Central Stake Conference

Yesterday we went to the California building for the Central Stake Conference.  President and Sister Diaz spoke as well as Hermano Rodriguez (Stake Patriarch) and his son Marco. The last speakers were one of the Counselors in the Mission Presidency and the Stake President, President Rabanal.  President Casos and possibly the Marbles went to the Casa Grande Stake Conference because they were getting a new Stake President, Roger Rivas.  His brother works in the temple with us.

The choir sang, "I Know My Father Lives" with some young girls singing a verse and "Called to Serve".  Both were very good.

They had a good pianist and Ahman Vega on the violin.

Wayne is waiting patiently with the taxi for us to finish taking pictures.
After church we ate lunch with the Wayne and Jan.  I cooked the chicken and brought corn and cake and ice cream.  Jan made mashed potatoes and fruit salad.  We had a great meal and Bill and Wayne enjoyed watching the 7th game of the World Series again on YouTube in 30 minutes.

We enjoyed watching the last game Wednesday night after the temple. They had a rain delay of 17 minutes and went into extra innings.  The Cubs beat the Indians by scoring 2 runs in the top of the 10th inning, winning 8-7 in game 7.

The last time the cubs won the World Series was 108 years ago in 1908.  Babe Ruth was 13 years old then.
