The Zoo

On Monday we went with Jan & Wayne to the Zoo in Huanchaco. This was not your typical zoo.  It is located in an odd location.  Our Taxi driver even had trouble finding it so I don't think many people go there.  It cost us 3 soles a piece to get in which is about 90 cents and we were the only ones there. We all had fun and have another memory to add to our list.

The entrance to the Zoo.

Lots of birds.

Monkeys

A squirrel, llama, deer, goat, horses (one is a mule), turtles and Iguanas. There were also lots of snakes and cayman.

This is a White Bearded Titi

There was even a cat and a hairless dog roaming the grounds.

It was really dusty and dirty.  They feed the animals these big squash.

We had to walk several "blocks" on the dirt roads to find a taxi.

These boys just got home from school.
Wayne finally found us a taxi.

After the zoo we went to the mall to get our favorite lunch at Chili's, Chicken Fried Chicken.
Lots of carbs, but oh so yummy.  I will have to give up this luxury when I get back to the States. The drink is frozen lemonada with grenadia, one of our favorite drinks.

And of course, you can't end a perfect day without a game of Deal or No Deal at the Coney Park.
