Thanksgiving in Peru

Today we were invited to have Thanksgiving dinner at the mission home with President and Sister Marler.  There were about 25-30 of us.  The mission home is beautiful and we enjoyed good food and good company. The Marlers provided the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and green bean casserole. Everyone else brought something. Sister Marler brought pumpkin, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green beans, cream of mushroom soup and onion rings from the states when she had to make a quick trip home last week.  You can't find those things here in Peru.

President Casos carried the food from the Temple Missionaries in the back of his car.
It would have been hard to transport in a taxi.

There were ten people at our table.  We ate on the veranda outside.  It was beautiful weather.  I don't remember ever eating Thanksgiving dinner outside before.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we are preparing for Christmas in our little apartment at the Albergue. Only 29 days until Christmas.  2015 has just flown by.
