Central Zone Apartment Visits & Barrio Los Jardines

This week we went with Sister Marble to visit the missionary apartments in the Central Zone.
With Elder Messier from Georgia and Elder Wyatt Turner from Laguna Beach, CA
outside their apartment.
Bill climbing the spiral staircase to the third floor
of one of Elder's apartment. This building is owned

by the Zamoras from the temple. Their daughter and her
family live on the first floor, the Zamoras on the second floor
and the missionaries on the third.  They are in the Chan Chan ward.
The Zone Leaders, Elder Babbel from Idaho and Elder Reyes from Lima.
A street vendor with meat hanging under the umbrella.

Elder Zachary Turner and Elder Elder Bejarano from Bolivia.

Elder Latimer from Price Utah & Elder Maddocks from North Dakota.
When we arrived back at the temple we found Oscar (one of the temple
engineers with his wife and little son, Tiago.  We gave him some cookies
we had in our bag.  He loved them.

Today we attended the Los Jardines Ward.  The Trujillo Ward meets in the same building but they are both in different stakes which are also in two different missions.  The Trujillo Ward is in the Trujillo South Mission with President Rios and the Los Jardines ward is in the
Trujillo North Mission with President Marble.  One of the Sister Missionaries told us they have to leave the mission every time they go to church.  An interesting situation.

We don't take as many pictures at church now since we are on our 2nd or 3rd time attending the different wards and we have posted pictures of most of the people we know previously.

Elder Willard from Washington & Elder Zanabria from Lima.
Hermana Samanamud from Lima & Hermana Rowley from Salt Lake City.
Bill with Hermano Llontop & his son Samuel.
Sisters from the temple.  The sister on the left is 90 years old.

Last night was the BYU / Utah game.  It was a good game but some of the officiating was questionable.  Utah beat BYU 20-19.  BYU had a chance to win the game on the final play.  Bill says he is starting to feel like Charlie Brown since they have beat us several years in a row.

Bill enjoying the game with his BYU Peppermint stick from our neighbor De Anna Fry.
Bill and De Anna are friendly rivals as she bleeds pure red and he bleeds blue. But she was a good sport and decorated our home in Blue and White while we watched the game in Peru.

She had a little help from some other neighbors, Jim, Margaret and Rose.
We sure do miss our good neighbors.

Our friends, Jim and Patti Fackrell, who served here in Trujillo, are also big Utah fans.  They were at the game and promised to wave to us.  Here they are with their family, cheering on the Utes.

Today marks 15 years since 9/11.  Every American remembers where they were on
September 11, 2001. We will never forget the weeks of sadness and fear that followed the tragic attacks that took 3000 lives that day.  America came together to rebuild after this tragedy.
