Back to Primavera

We have visited most of the wards or buildings since we have been here in Trujillo.  We have missed some that meet at 8:00 am because we try not to get up early on Sunday if we don't have to.  This Sunday we went back to the Primavera Ward.  The first time we visited was last September.  It is one of the buildings closer to the temple and is where the mission offices are located.  Only one ward meets in this building and they meet at 9:00.

This is the home ward of the Primavera Stake President, Manuel Davila.  He spoke in church along with his son who just returned from his mission and the two Mission Secretaries, Elder Logan and Elder Espinoza.  I played the piano and Bill led the singing since the chorister did not show up.  The Marlers and Hawses also visited this ward on Sunday.

Bill helped set up the chairs before the meeting. When the meeting started
there were only about 20 people there but by the time the Sacrament was passed,
the room was full.
Bill and Carlos set up the chairs.  Carlos is a new member.

This sister came early with her 6 year old great granddaughter.
Hermana Garcia with her daughter and granddaughters.
She works in the temple.

We found this soccer game being played on a basketball court next door to the church.

This week at the temple. There is always a wedding or two.

A small group studying on the lawn.

Temple night for the Los Robles Ward.
A bus load of people came from Huaraz.
The Marlers brought the new Missionaries to see the temple after picking them up at the airport.

A little humor for the week!

The Bentleys in Pacasmayo took this picture of a Peruvian moving day.
Don't know how they got all that stuff on that truck.
Bill came out one day and said he was ready for the temple.
I told him it wasn't camouflage day.

Back home in the states, our youngest grandchild, Zechariah Bruyn Hartman, celebrates his 2nd birthday today, April 25th.  He was born after we moved to Logan and we have been on our mission for almost 11 months now so we haven't really gotten to spend much time with him. He was happy to see us when we Skyped him for his birthday. He waved and smiled.  I think the other kids in the family are more excited than him for his birthday and cake. He is a cute little boy and we look forward to getting to know him better when we get home.

Back home in Utah, Micah is starting to work with weapons in his karate class.

Heather and her family are coming to visit in August.  They will be bringing this and more with them.  One of the boys in their ward is working on an Eagle Scout project to collect and send shirts and ties to missionaries in Peru. Here is a picture of what they have collected so far. This will make a big difference for some of the young men preparing to go on missions.

Today we went to Squalo's, one of our favorite restaurants, for lunch.  We always share a meal because they give you such big portions.  Today we had Langoustinos Panco (shrimp) with Papas Puree (mashed potatoes). It came with a delicious sweet sauce for dipping. It cost 35 soles or $10.66. I also took pictures of two interesting pictures hanging in the restaurant.

After lunch we walked a few blocks to Wong's to buy some groceries.
A very interesting tree.

A neighborhood nursery.

I found this new, cute friend at Wong's.  He only cost 129 soles or $39.00 but
Bill said there was no way he was going to Utah so he still resides in the store.

When we arrived home they were unloading paper products at the temple. It takes a lot of toilet paper, kleenex & paper towels to keep this temple stocked.
