The Wall Mural & Sights Around Town

Almost every time we take a taxi, our journey takes us past the beautiful mural around the campus of the Universidad National de Trujillo, Peru.  I did a little research to find out a bit more about this masterpiece so I will post a few more pictures.

This is a public University with 19,000 students.  The mural around the campus is the largest artistic mural in Latin America and possibly the world.  It pays tribute to human events that shaped the culture of the country.

It covers an area of 3 kilometers of wall, with over 30 million tiles of 1 square centimeter each.  It was started in the early 90's and has cost more that 2 million soles ($592,000).
It is truly a work of art and a beauty to behold.  We are amazed every time we see it.

These pictures really don't do it justice.  It is much better in person.

Every week we take pictures when we are out and about.  It seems we see new things every time.  I want to eventually print up our blog so we can have a copy of our mission photo journal.  These pictures are more for us to remember our experiences and the things we see and do.  But we hope all who view our blog will enjoy the things we post.

A car wash.
One of our taxi drivers, asking directions.
This car delivered a new bride and groom to the temple.

We bought Max a little Christmas outfit for next year.  It cost 15 soles ($4.33).

This wrapping paper cracked me up, especially when I think of  the huge
rolls I buy to wrap presents at home.

We picked up Bill's new suit this week.  He wore it to church on Sunday.  It is very well made.  We were surprised at how good the quality is.  We will probably get him another one before we go home.
The dressing room.

Back home in Utah, Heather's family enjoyed their annual  Stephenson Family
FHE at Grandma & Grandpa Stephenson's house.

I ran across this wonderful piece of wisdom from Mother Teresa.  It is food for thought as we enjoy this Christmas Season in Peru and head into a new year; something I hope we can all incorporate into our lives.
